About
Hey! I am Vasavi Sadhu
I believe in designing sustainable solutions within a user + planet- centric design framework.
I have a hyperactive passionate personality which always strives to improve what one calls “perfect”. Because I do not believe in that word. Perfection is dependent on the fourth dimension viz “time” and since that is constantly changing, so what’s perfect this second, is not so perfect by the time you finish reading this sentence.
I have practiced design in three countries, Australia, Italy and India, and love collaborating with international design teams. I strive to learn something new from every new designer I work with, a co-designer from Italy recently taught me the importance self- management in the agile scrum methodology, where we co-created the new website design for poste italiane.
I believe that every person possesses one thing they are best at, for me that is “Empathy and perspective”. I understand human psychology and behaviour to an extent that I become the living embodiment of the user I am studying. I can feel what they feel, I can think what they think, and this gives me an enormous advantage while conceptualising designs for my clients.
In my whole life, I have never done anything I do not love, I love solving problems, and that is why I haven’t worked a day in my life, I just have fun, doing what I do best.
Besides design, I love travelling, I have travelled through 19 countries solo, and lived in Chennai, Hyderabad, Brisbane, Milan, Sydney, pursuing my passion for design.
I pursued my Master of design (Product and Interaction design) from University of New South Wales and Master of Science (Digital and interaction design, Exchange program) from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, with the UNSW Future of change scholarship.
Moreover, I have a Bachelor of Product design from the National institute of fashion technology and Queensland University of Technology (Exchange Program) with a full scholarship funded by DIISTRE and DEEWR Australian government.
In the past, my designs have been published in the Cosmopolitan magazine, May 2015 issue.
I have constantly been moving around all my life, and have lived in over 35 cities in my short life of 27 yrs. Currently I’m practicing design in Sydney, Australia.
Thanks for stopping by!
